Previously registered as a builder with Housing Guarantee Fund, I was limited to 4 dwellings at any one time. Allowing my registration to expire I had a stint in property management in Melbourne, to further my knowledge and career. I re-registered as a domestic builder 15 years ago and now Mirboo North Building Services is classified as ‘unlimited' and has two to five houses on the go at any one time.
Self-employed for 25 years, I constructed and ran (with my wife, Kellie) a successful accommodation premises in Mirboo North - Birchwood Retreat Country Cottages. At that time I was full-time building as well. We sold Birchwood retreat in 2009 and focused on the building industry once again. Mirboo North Building Services now employs 5 full-time local trades-people and at times, up to 12 plus part-time sub-contractors.
Mirboo North Building Services' focus is solely on the Mirboo North area. Employing all local trades-people, we aim to help retain a percentage of the income generated in Mirboo North.
Recently nominated for ‘Renovation of the Year' through The Master Builders Association (to be announced August 2012) the future of Mirboo North Building Services looks bright.
