HISTORICAL SOCIETY HISTORY
The current Mirboo & District Historical Society was established in 1986 after a meeting called by the Shire President Cr. Graeme Roberts. Since that time it has grown from one small brown case to a large collection of local history.
The aim of the Society is to preserve the written and photographic history of Mirboo and district. If you have any photo's of the town, district, people or activities relating to our area, we would be most grateful to have a loan of them to copy for our collection in particular from the 1940's on.
We also act as custodians by holding the minute books of local organisations, school, sporting groups and service clubs. We have built up a library of local history books, bound local volumes of newspapers, and answered many queries on family research.
Throughout the years many activities have been held and well attended by members, visitors, past residents and the local community who continue to support the Society in many ways.
